Hey you Obama fans. I wanted to congratulate you for getting your favorite candidate elected.
As you might know, I'm Libertarian, so I was neither for Obama nor for McCain. To me, the outcome of these elections, whichever way it did or not swing, means bigger government, more taxation, less individual and financial freedom for the citizens and residents of this great country. Please, do not get insulted, whether Dem or Rep, as this is my opinion, and I'm merely expressing it, finally I should add, as most of you have in the near past.
It's true that I have been avoiding getting online lately. As a Libertarian, my political views are across both the right and leftist spectrum. I'm for individual liberties, in our personal lives and our economic decisions. I want everybody to be able to treat their body the way they want to, even if that means abusing it. As long as they're not hurting anyone else, that's fine by me. I want everybody to be able to keep their hard-earned money, and spend it the way they see fit, even if that means squandering it. I don't want the government, I don't want the politicians deciding what I can or not put in my body (food, drink, or drug), what I can or not buy. I don't want a third of my husband's weekly paycheck to be spent by others before he even gets a hold of it. I don't want anybody's paycheck to be adjusted for Income Tax, and other involuntary "donations." I want charity, philanthropy, to govern. I want personal responsibility to direct success and failure. I want a limited government, and free markets. I want all the options available to everybody; the bad options will be eradicated by choice.
I am thankful I have the ability, still, to express my opinion, without fear of prosecution, as expressed in the Bill of Rights. I am thankful for Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness that the Declaration of Independence guarantees for me and everybody else in America. As Bob Dylan says, "I want everybody to be free."
You might think I'm endorsing anarchy, and to a degree I am. I am opposed, as all Libertarians are, to violent crime and financial fraud. I don't see the point of prosecution for victimless crimes. As long as nobody is murdered, raped, robbed, or truly violated in any other way, shall I say it?, I don't care. And the government shouldn't either.

I am glad that you are on and expressing your opinion, I have missed you!
i think it's awesome that you can express yourself so clearly. i have a few libertarian views myself.
I'm happy to see you around and hear/read your views, Annita. We all believe in something, and it's good to hear your opinion on all that has recently been going on.
My views are quite similar to yours. I do usually vote Dem or Rep but I choose based on who's viewpoints fall most in line with mine, whoever that may be at the time. My personal opinions span from far left, to moderate right, and everywhere in between. I already had an idea of what your opinions were, and I'm glad you took the time to post them. I always admire your opinions...
I am glad to hear your thoughts and opinions. I think you make some valid points, and I respect you for voicing them.
So, when are you going to be able to vote? Or run for office? I want you to literally get a say.
I don't disagree with most of your points, I just don't know how they'd be implemented. But, I am all for some major changes being made. That's what is great about our country, being able to have, and VOICE, opinions (as long as you aren't hurting anyone, and you aren't).
